Eight questions about the single rider queue

Various attractions in Efteling have a single rider queue, in addition to the regular queue. Discover the most frequently asked questions about the single rider queue.

1. What is a single rider queue?

A single rider queue is a separate queue for visitors who would like to visit an attraction on their own. This queue is not the right one if you would like to visit the attraction with someone or with a group.

2. Where are the single rider queues?

There are single rider queues at the following attractions: Baron 1898 dive coaster, Python steel roller coaster, Symbolica dark ride, De Vliegende Hollander water coaster, dual tracked roller coaster Max & Moritz and Joris en de Draak dual-tracked roller coaster. These attractions have two queues; one queue for groups and families and one for individuals who would like to visit the attraction.

Apart from these two queues, there is also an entrance for disabled visitors. This entrance is usually near the exit of the attraction.

3. Why is there a single rider queue?

To shorten the waiting time for our visitors. Groups in the regular queue can always sit together. The single riders fill the empty seats in a vehicle. This shortens the queue for both groups and visitors who visit an attraction on their own.

4. What are the advantages of a single rider queue?

Visitors who visit the attraction via the single rider queue generally have a shorter waiting time because they fill as many empty seats as possible in the vehicles. This does, of course, depend on how busy it is and the number of empty seats available. The single rider queue may be closed on quiet days.

5. What are the disadvantages of a single rider queue?

Visitors who visit the attraction via the single rider queue (so on their own) cannot choose where they sit in the attraction, but are given a seat next to other visitors in the vehicle.  At Symbolica dark ride, they also do not have a choice as to which of the 3 palace tours they go on.

6. Can I join the single rider queue with a group?

Yes, but you then visit the attraction one by one and not as a group. Visitors in the single rider queue fill the empty seats in a vehicle.

7. Can children join the single rider queue on their own?

Yes, providing they meet the requirement for the minimum height and the other requirements to enter the attraction without a companion. The requirements differ per attraction: Symbolica dark ride, Python steel roller coaster, Baron 1898 dive coaster, De Vliegende Hollander water coaster, dual tracked roller coaster Max & Moritz and dual-tracked roller coaster Joris en de Draak.

8. I see that several people and groups still sit together, even though they were in the single rider queue. How come?

These visitors are simply lucky that there just happen to be several empty seats in a vehicle. This is an exception and depends on the regular queue and the number of empty seats available.
