Today, the new illusion show Magicaluna celebrated its festive premiere at the Efteling Theater.

Efteling has gained a new park show. Magicaluna is a twenty-minute, non-verbal illusion show—exciting and perhaps a little different from what you’re used to at Efteling…

Magicaluna takes you into a surreal dream world full of magic, wondrous creatures, and surprising visual effects. Illusion, choreography, and music blend seamlessly into a spectacular show filled with wow moments. It’s thrilling, imaginative, and perfect for the whole family, recommended for ages 6 and up.

Nicole Scheffers, Director Park & Resorts: “This dreamy illusion show lets our guests experience wonder in a completely new way at Efteling. It enriches our entertainment offering and allows us to make the most of the Efteling Theater. Magicaluna is filled with surreal illusions that will leave our guests amazed and carries an important message: you’re never too old to dream.”

The show is filled with wondrous creatures and surprising visual effects.

Producer Entertainment Maarten Rikken: “For this new park show at the Efteling Theater, we’re working with producer Magus Utopia. With over 25 years of experience, they’re known for their originality, artistic craft, and fantasy illusionism. For Efteling, Magus Utopia is creating a dreamy illusion show for the very first time, with a clear Efteling signature.”

Magicaluna is exciting and perhaps a little different from what you’re used to at Efteling…

Maarten continues: “While technical preparations were underway at the Efteling Theater, we kicked off rehearsals in Amsterdam on March 2 with a celebratory cake moment. Since mid-March, we’ve been rehearsing in the Efteling Theater. The full cast and crew of fifty people are completely ready! We’re excited and very curious about the audience’s reactions!”

Good to know

The show runs until Sunday, November 8 and can be visited free of charge three times a day at 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. No reservations are needed—just walk in. Magicaluna is suitable for the whole family, with a recommended age of 6 and up.

Join Luna on a journey to a world full of fantasy!

The story

On the evening before her birthday, Luna decides she wants to leave her childhood behind. She tidies her room and puts away all her old toys—including Jokie, the doll she received from her grandmother. That night, something unexpected happens. As Luna sleeps, dream builders appear, using enchanting tricks to transform her room into a grand dream spectacle.

Luna awakens and is filled with wonder. Toys move as if alive, shadows guide her path, and illusions carry her into a world of imagination. During this magical journey, Luna rediscovers something she had nearly lost: her own sense of wonder.
