Winter is on its way to Efteling with two new attractions and Winter Efteling

Efteling, the fairytale theme park in the south of Holland, welcomes two new attractions in time for its annual Winter Efteling, which runs from 11 November 2019 to 2 February 2020.

Visitors will be in a world full of twinkling lights, special winter attractions and heart-warming entertainment during its annual Winter Efteling.

For the first time this year, guests can also experience Efteling’s two newest attractions as part of their winter visit: The Six Swans, which opened at the end of September in the Fairytale Forest, and the 4D film adventure Fabula, opening at the start of December. Additionally, guests will also be able to enjoy the special winter attractions, such as the cross-country ski run and the covered IJspaleis with an ice-skating rink and a slide, where the Snow Princess and the Fire Prince create musical entertainment. The family day out ends with the Aquanura water and light show that’s particularly spectacular against the wintry night sky.

New attractions The Six Swans and Fabula

Swimming in the fairy-lit Fairytale Forest, the recently-opened Six Swans attraction allows guests to sail into the castle on board one of the swans, or enter by foot. Inside, visitors will discover if the King’s daughter, Elisa, succeeds in breaking the spell that has turned her brothers into swans.

From the beginning of December, visitors to Winter Efteling will be among the first to experience new 4D film adventure, Fabula. This cheerful film follows the story of a grumpy young bear and a squirrel as they visit the worlds of other animals

Special winter attractions at Winter Efteling

There are special activities for the whole family at Winter Efteling, including skating on the ice rink or riding down the slide at the indoor IJspaleis; singing and dancing on the illuminated dance floor with the Snow Princess and the Fire Prince, and putting ski skills to the test with the cross-country skiing track 't Hijgend Hert. Visitors will also be able to enjoy winter snacks and hot drinks in various places located around the park.

Aside from the water attractions, all attractions are open if the weather permits. When evening falls, the facade of Villa Volta comes alive with a 3D projection in an impressive illusion.

Dazzling winter entertainment

Heart-warming musical acts entertain guests that gather around the bonfires during Winter Efteling while performances take place in the open-air theatre in the Fairytale Forest. The Aquanura water show - with its 200 fountains, beautiful Efteling melodies, fire and light effects -is particularly impressive in the winter night sky. There is also a Raveleijn show multiple times a day that takes place in the semi-covered arena.
