Spring at Efteling

Efteling’s new Raveleijn park show: an exciting spectacle

From 30 April onwards, Efteling will present an entirely new Raveleijn park show, in partnership with French theme park Puy du Fou, a leading player in the field of park shows within Europe. During the 20-minute show an exciting spectacle unfolds with horses and ravens appearing in the gigantic open-air arena. The show features amazing and astounding stunts, along with special effects based on water and fire. The original story from 2011, by Efteling and Paul van Loon, remains the basis for the new show: five children are magically transformed into fully grown riders on horseback and join forces to fight the cruel Count Olaf and his five-headed monster, in order to liberate the city of Raveleijn. Several performances are staged each day.

Efteling is open every day of the year but there is more to see this spring: the latest resident of the Fairytale Forest, the vain emperor, warms his naked flesh in the spring sunshine. Fairytale Tree encourages children to stamp or puff along to new, interactive stories. Colourful tulips and daffodils can be seen alongside Fata Morgana and the Halve Maen swinging ship. More than 250,000 flowering bulbs, 10,000 violets, 16,000 forget-me-nots and 200 hanging baskets provide spring colour and fragrance throughout the park. Visitors can loop the loop on the Python or race against each other on the wooden racer rollercoaster George and the Dragon. And the Efteling day ends with a visit to Aquanura, Europe’s biggest water show with colourful fountains that shoot up high into the sky.

The exciting spectacle of Raveleijn
Since the opening of the magical city of Raveleijn, in 2011, almost 2 million people visited the original park show. The public also became familiar with the story through the television series and the book by Paul van Loon. Efteling’s President and CEO, Bart de Boer, is delighted with the new show:

“The partnership with Puy du Fou has been an unqualified success. The show is filled with pace, excitement and action. Visitors will not only see the magical gate but also the metamorphosis of the children into fully grown riders and much more. They will certainly appreciate the spectacle of actors, water and fire.”

Aquanura
Four frogs transform the Vonderplas lake into a musical extravaganza, lasting 12 minutes. To the sound of powerful and recognisable Efteling melodies, more than 200 fountains bring to life fairytales such as The Frog Prince and The Indian Water Lilies, as well as attractions like the Creepy Castle, Raveleijn and Dreamflight. Aquanura is a special show and a new Efteling memory.
