Palace of Fantasy in Efteling is taking shape

The Dutch theme park Efteling, located in the south of Holland, is to open its new attraction 'Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy' in summer 2017. The building of ‘Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy’ in Efteling is steadily progressing. This morning, the first visitors to the park were able to see an enormous dome on the building site. The 46 feet wide and nearly 10 feet high structure was placed on an almost 20 foot high steel construction. The dome is made of synthetic materials and weighs around 4,400 pounds. The 24 separate parts of the dome arrived the day before, after which they were assembled at the building site. This now forms part of one of the scenes which guests will experience from summer 2017 when they visit the new attraction Symbolica. With a €35 million investment, Symbolica will become the largest attraction ever at the park. The new covered family attraction is part of the 65th anniversary of Efteling.

Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy
Symbolica will be a 'dark ride', an indoor attraction for the whole family, and similar to other Efteling attractions such as 'Droomvlucht', Fata Morgana and Carnival Festival. The new attraction will revolve around the magical stories of reality, dream and fantasy. From summer 2017, visitors to Efteling will be accepted by the King of Symbolica, into the Palace of Fantasy. An enchanting covered family attraction, where nothing is what it seems. Everyone is welcome. From young to old. Magic jester Pardoes makes sure that a visit will be surprising as well as enchanting. Visitors are taken along secret corridors and past magical rooms, and will be in awe throughout.
