Follow the ‘Making of Symbolica’ on YouTube

Building is underway for Efteling’s newest attraction: Symbolica, Palace of Fantasy. From summer 2017, visitors will be able to have an audience with the king in Symbolica, the Palace of Fantasy, where they will meet Pardoes, the magic jester. The palace is being built in honour of the theme park’s 65th jubilee, and will open its doors to the public next Summer. Until then, the building of the palace and the styling of the attraction can be followed on the Efteling YouTube channel, where each month a new "building of the attraction" episode will be available. In total, eight episodes of the "Making of Symbolica" will be produced.

In the first episode, we show how the building of the covered attraction is progressing and explain the basic process. The viewer will see how the ideas of Henny Knoet, the spiritual father of Efteling mascot Pardoes, were the inspiration for the building of Symbolica. The episode will show that Symbolica will be characterised by universal fantasy themes, wonder, and interaction, offering a unique experience to guests of many nationalities and generations.

Symbolica, the Palace of Fantasy is a wondrous covered family attraction in which nothing is what it seems. Everyone is welcome, young as well as old. The magic jester, Pardoes, will ensure that a visit is enchanting and full of surprises. Visitors will be led through secret corridors and magical rooms, from one amazing one to the next.
