First sketches show new accommodation Efteling

Theme park Efteling, located in the South of Holland, wants to continue its growth into an international destination with 5 million visitors in 2020. As part of this mission, this week a start is made with the construction of a new holiday village. Those looking for a short holiday in Efteling could already find accommodation in a hotel since 1992, and in a holiday village since 2009. From the middle of 2017 this will be expanded by Holiday village Efteling Loonsche Land, with a hotel and 66 holiday homes. By expanding the accommodation, Efteling aims at attracting people for a longer period and from further away to the most visited theme park of The Netherlands.

Holiday village Efteling Loonsche Land
At a stone's throw from Efteling, and on the edge of the nature district the 'Loonsche Land', Holiday village Efteling Loonsche Land will open its doors mid 2017. Hidden in the nature reserve a hotel and 66 cosy holiday homes for 6 to 12 persons will be realized. The hotel will offer 75 rooms and another 20 special themed rooms outside the hotel, and one of the holiday homes is designed to accommodate groups. Because of the special location above, on or under the ground the accommodation will ensure a special experience in the heart of nature. Building of the holiday village on an area of more than eight hectare will cost 30 million Euro.

Overnight stay at Efteling
Once the new accommodation has opened, Efteling will have a total of 3,000 beds: 450 in Efteling Hotel, 1,550 in Holiday village Efteling Bosrijk and 1,000 in the new Holiday village Efteling Loonsche Land. The existing two Efteling accommodations have always shown a high occupancy rate. In 2015 Holiday village Efteling Bosrijk was expanded with an extra 51 accommodations.
