Efteling receives 123,456,789th visitor

Today, at around 10.30am, Efteling welcomed its 123,456,789th visitor since the official opening of the theme park in 1952. Bonnie Kloet, from Dordrecht in the Netherlands, decided that visiting the park with her family would be the perfect ending to their holiday. Together with her husband and parents, she brought her daughter, Vanessa-Olivia (1.5 years old), to discover Efteling for the first time. As their tickets were being scanned, Bonnie was suddenly surprised by Efteling’s Chairman and CEO, Fons Jurgens, at which point the day turned into an even happier occasion. Surrounded by Little Red Riding Hood and the Efteling gnomes, Bonnie’s family was presented with a free Efteling annual pass. The arrival of the 123,456,789th visitor represents yet another significant milestone for Efteling.

63-year history
In 1952 Efteling opened its gates to the public for the first time. In just two years’ time more than a million people had visited the park. In 2009 Efteling received its 100-millionth visitor through the park gates and today Efteling welcomed its 123,456,789th visitor.
