Efteling Best Family Theme Park in the Family Traveller Awards
Efteling is thrilled to announce their fantastic win for Best Family Theme Park in the esteemed Family Traveller Awards for 2016, which was announced this month.
Surpassing nominees including Universal Orlando, Disneyland Paris and Europa Park in voting numbers is a huge achievement for Efteling, and they are delighted to have secured the win.
Efteling is proud of their unique heritage dating back to 1952, traditional fairytale nostalgia and hand designed and crafted attractions, so are thrilled to be recognised as the leading family theme park amongst the world’s top theme parks.
Largely inspired by Brother's Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen, Efteling is the third largest theme park in Europe showcasing custom made attractions designed and created by their own creative team, some dating back to the opening of the park.
It’s easy to keep the whole family happy with a mixture of rides and attractions for all ages. The Fairytale Forest is completely mesmerising with the talking tree, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and other classics. You can also visit elves, fairies, goblins and forest animals in Droomvlucht, an enchanting indoor dark ride, or for thrill seekers there are breathtaking roller coasters such as the double track wooden coaster, Joris en de Draak and dive coaster Baron 1898.
The shows are world renowned too. Aquanura is the spectacular water show which uses coloured lights, fire and music and is also the largest in Europe.
The accommodation is also a huge talking point with guests, with incredible fairytale themed rooms in the adjacent Efteling Hotel, or the choice to stay in Bosrijk, an enchanting lakeside village set in a forest and made up of picture perfect wooden houses where you can even order bicycle pizza delivery.
Just over an hour from Amsterdam and 45 minutes from Rotterdam, Efteling is incredibly easy to reach from the UK by air or sea.
With its largest ride to date, Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy, due to open Summer 2017, as well as the spectacular new accommodation, Loonsche Land set to open next year, Efteling is excited to welcome more UK visitors than ever before to experience its hidden wonders.
