Aquanura water show’s Frog Prince unveiled

A special moment took place this morning at the construction site of the new anniversary attraction, Aquanura. Bart de Boer, Chairman and CEO of Efteling, and Mark Fuller, CEO of supplier, WET, together unveiled the Frog Prince. Along with his three future cohorts, this frog will transform the Vonderplas Lake into the sensational water show, Aquanura, from 31 May 2012.

Bart de Boer explains what frogs have to do with the anniversary attraction:

“The name Aquanura is derived from a combination of the words ‘aqua’, meaning water, and ‘anura’, which means frog. In addition, ‘nura’ means ‘enlightened’ and appropriately symbolises light, which is one of the main elements of this, the largest fountain show in Europe.”
Bart de Boer, President and CEO Efteling

Mark Fuller is delighted with the construction work’s progress: “Aquanura is a project in which Efteling and WET have envisioned a fairytale world. I find it fascinating to see how the elements of water, fire, music and light are taking more tangible forms.”

On 31 May 2012, Efteling celebrates its 60th anniversary with the première of the spectacular water show, Aquanura. It will immediately become one of the three largest water shows in the world and a tribute to one of the first ten fairytale scenes featured in the Fairytale Forest: The Frog Prince. Efteling is investing € 17 million in the breathtaking anniversary attraction. Anyone interested can follow the construction of this prestigious project online, via efteling.com/aquanura.
