Enjoy a virtual day at Efteling

Efteling, the fairytale theme park in the south of Holland, launches a new free platform for friends and families to virtually visit Efteling together

Efteling fans across the world are now able to explore the World of Wonders from their homes, thanks to a new online platform.

Although the fairytale theme park is open once again with enhanced safety measures in place, this new virtual platform has been created to allow those that are unable to travel yet to still have the Efteling experience. The platform also gives a taster of the variety of attractions at Efteling for those that are planning a visit.

The platform, accessible at onride.efteling.com, enables users to invite family and friends to experience Efteling together - virtually.

Once registered on the platform, visitors can choose up to 12 rides from a collection of on-ride videos to experience with their companions. The collection features Efteling’s most popular attractions, from the white-knuckle roller coasters such as the double-looped Python to the more relaxed rides such as Carnaval Festival, which follows Efteling inhabitants Jokie and Jet on an adventure to different countries and cultures. It also includes the Aquanura illuminated water show against a night sky, which is when it is at its most impressive. Friends and family can ‘chat’ to each other during their virtual visit via the keyboard function.

Efteling’s new family double roller coaster, Max & Moritz, which opened to the public on 20 June and follows the mischievous tricks from two naughty boys, Max & Moritz, also features on the platform.

Users select the rides they want to experience and they will then be played one after another in a personalised chat room, made up of friends and family. Each on-ride video differs in length, as some rides are longer than others, which means the total length of the virtual experience will be dependent on the on-ride videos chosen by the users.

Efteling re-opened its gates on 20 May after a temporary closure during the spring. The opening marked the introduction of Efteling’s new safety measures, including disinfection and hygiene points, clear information signs and social distance markers to ensure visitors are always safe and comfortable. The online platform offers an alternative way to visit Efteling, giving past guests an opportunity to reminisce on their favourite Efteling memories but also new and potential guests a chance to see which rides they would like to try when they are able to visit.

To start the virtual journey, guests must visit onride.efteling.com and register. Once this is done, they can invite their family and friends for a virtual adventure!
