Efteling and Eneco join forces to create the largest charging station in the Benelux

Efteling, in cooperation with Eneco, opens the largest charging station in the Benelux.  The theme park in the south of Holland has added 60 charging points to its visitor car park. This brings the total to 87 charging points, where 174 electric cars can charge simultaneously when the park reopens.

Sustainability in their DNA

Efteling and Eneco have found each other in their sustainable ambitions. "Caring for the living environment and sustainability is in our DNA. Efteling aims to be climate-neutral by 2030. Creating these extra charge points fits in perfectly with this goal. I am very proud that we have the largest charging station in the Benelux!” says Fons Jurgens, CEO of Efteling. "At the moment, our gates are unfortunately still closed, but when we can, we want to open in a responsible way. As soon as Efteling opens again, many visitors will use the charging points."

All Eneco charging points charge exclusively on 100% renewable energy, sourced from the European sun and wind.

Good step towards sustainable mobility

The two parties have been working together since 2019. Joris Laponder, CCO at Eneco eMobility, is pleased with this new step in the partnership: "Eneco and Efteling are meeting the growing need for charging facilities for electric cars. Visitors to Efteling can charge carefree during their visit. The charging points are therefore not only a sustainable investment, but also an extra service for Efteling visitors. The fact that we are able to establish this together is a really good step towards sustainable mobility".
