Raveleijn TV series wins Cinekid Kinderkast Award

Multimedia Efteling project recognised by target group

The announcement of the 25th Cinekid Festival awards took place at a ceremony in Amsterdam on the evening of 20 October. Two Efteling productions were nominated for a media prize: the television series and the online game that form part of the Raveleijn multimedia project. As one of three children’s television programmes nominated in the fiction category, Raveleijn won the Cinekid Kinderkast Award on Thursday evening.

Bart de Boer, Chairman and CEO of Efteling, received the Kinderkast Award on behalf of Efteling, proudly saying: “The Raveleijn TV series was chosen by children as the best youth programme! We see this as a sign that the target group orientation and multimedia production of a story works well. With Raveleijn, we have created a total experience: alongside the TV series, a book, online game and a park show all form part of the same project.”

The impressive story of Raveleijn was conceived by Efteling and further developed in conjunction with Paul van Loon, forming the thread for both the drama series and the online game. The Raveleijn TV series, which was broadcast earlier this year on RTL4 and Brabant television, is about five children who pass through a mysterious gate and discover the magical city of Raveleijn on the other side. The Dutch version of the television series, produced by Efteling Media and Four One Media, featured well-known Dutch actors, such as Babette van Veen, Bart de Vries, Hugo Haenen, Miryanna van Reeden, Sebastian Wulff and Kimberley Klaver.
