Aquanura water show construction from above

On 31 May 2012, Efteling celebrates its 60th anniversary in fitting style with the première of the sensational water show, Aquanura. Construction of the largest fountain show in Europe (and the third largest in the world) is proceeding at a fast pace. Most materials have already arrived from the United States and, behind the scenes, people are working hard laying all of the piping required.

A total of approximately 4,500 metres of piping is being laid in the Vonderplas pool, which will later transport water (plastic pipes) and compressed air (stainless steel pipes) to the pool’s various fountains. Around 350 m3 of water per hour will later flow through the plastic piping, via pumps with filters. This water comes from the Vonderplas, to which it will return via a circulation system. Enormous compressors ensure a continuous air pressure of around 8 bar in the steel pipes, increasing to around 120 bar during performances. Anyone interested can follow the construction of this prestigious project via efteling.com/aquanura.
